What BigJobs.in is for

Every year lakhs of candidates chase the same handful of questions: is this vacancy real, when does the form close, where is my admit card, how do I challenge a wrong answer, and what does my score actually mean? The answers are scattered across dozens of commission websites, PDF notices and corrigenda. BigJobs.in exists to make that process understandable. We write original, practical guides for each stage of a recruitment or admission cycle, and we always point you to the body that has the final word.

We are an independent information portal. We do not conduct exams, collect application fees, sell "guaranteed selection" packages, or speak on behalf of any commission, board or ministry. When you see a link on this site that leads to a government domain, that is where the authoritative notice lives.

How to use this site

Think of a recruitment cycle as a chain of stages. Each section of BigJobs.in covers one stage in depth:

  1. Find a genuine opening in Latest Jobs, or in the sector pages for banking, railway, defence and state government posts.
  2. Understand what will be tested using the Syllabus guide, then plan the year with our article on building an exam calendar.
  3. Download your hall ticket correctly with the Admit Card checklist.
  4. Check provisional answers and file objections through the Answer Key guide.
  5. Read your score, cut-off and merit list with the Results guide.
  6. Plan further study or funding with Admissions and Scholarships.

Alongside these, Current Affairs explains how to build a reliable general-awareness routine from primary government sources, and the Blog carries longer explainers on topics such as normalisation, category certificates and joining formalities.

Why we do not post "flash" vacancy lists

Many job portals copy headlines within minutes of a rumour, and some of those headlines turn out to be wrong, outdated or simply fake. We take a different approach. Instead of reproducing numbers that may change after a corrigendum, we explain how to read the notice yourself and link straight to the recruiting authority. Wherever you would normally expect a list of vacancies, dates or fees on this site, you will find a reminder to verify the latest notice on the official website, together with the correct link.

This is slower than copy-paste publishing, but it protects you. A wrong closing date on an unofficial page can cost you an entire year of preparation.

How to verify anything you read online

Whether the information comes from us, a coaching channel or a messaging group, the same checks apply:

  • Open the recruiting body's own website by typing its address, not by tapping a forwarded link.
  • Match the advertisement number, post name and date on the notice with what you were told.
  • Look for corrigenda, addenda and extension notices published after the original advertisement.
  • Pay fees only through the official application portal or the payment gateway it redirects you to.
  • Never share login passwords or one-time codes with anyone offering to "fill the form for you".
Verify the latest notice on the official site. Key portals: UPSC, SSC, IBPS, NTA, Indian Railways and the National Scholarship Portal.

Common mistakes candidates make

The most expensive errors are rarely about knowledge. They are procedural. Candidates miss a corrigendum that changed the age limit, apply in the wrong category because they did not check the certificate format, download an admit card a day before the exam and discover a photo mismatch, or ignore the objection window and lose marks on a question that was later dropped for others. Each guide on this site has a section on mistakes like these, because avoiding them is often worth more than one extra mock test.
